To the airport that night, we await our first flight.

22 hours of high altitude cruising, with plenty of time for movies and snoozing.

From California coast all across the Pacific, we touch ground in Asia. Oh how terrific!

To our first destination, we bring news of salvation. To a nation in the dark, we bring our dear light.

Let’s give glory to God, let’s strive for what’s right. It’s him we will serve with all of our might.

New friends that we’ve met, new things that we’ve seen, all good memories lie in between.

As our time here now comes to an end, it’s like saying goodbye to a good and dear friend.

With our presence away, we will continue to pray.

In the love of Lord Jesus we hope you will stay.

After 2 ½ months in Cambodia, our stay here is finally coming to a close. A lot has happened over the last few weeks here, between celebrating the holidays away from home and spending quality time with the people we’ve met here before moving on. My first Christmas away from home was both incredible and sad. We had a wonderful Christmas celebration as a squad with gifts, quality time, and good food. It was amazing being able to celebrate this fun and special season with all my new friends here, but it also made me realize how much I miss home and family. Having a Christmas away from home has made me appreciate quality time with family and showed me how special it actually is to me. I’m looking forward to returning home and seeing all my family and friends there again, but I’m also really excited about what’s next here on the other side of the world. This is our last day in Cambodia! Tomorrow morning we will get on a bus to begin traveling to Thailand where we will be staying until January 13th before moving on to South Africa. Our ten days in Thailand will be a time of rest and reflection for the squad as we move on from our ministry in Cambodia. I, along with the rest of the squad, am really looking forward to this time because I certainly do need time to unwind and process the last few months before moving on to new ministry. I will be praying that over this time God will give our squad clarity and direction as we head into a new chapter of the race.

Until next time,

Micah

    I loved reading this
    And I don’t write poems
    Love you, miss you!

  2. I’m sure it’s a bittersweet time for you – leaving all of those relationships from that past couple of months, but also knowing more is in store! Enjoy your rest and safe travels to South Africa!
